Death of Trees
After a few weeks with my original bundle of 7 Japanese maples, three of them died. They were probably dead or dying to begin with, as they never even started sprouting. Not too much I could've done for them, I think. I have a feeling that they were being killed by some sort of fungus or disease, as there were some unusual growths/splotches on the trees that died.
In addition, one of my good trees started to show some of these splotches and began to die. I trimmed the top part of the tree off and it is now flourishing. I can only assume that this helped to save the tree by clipping off the diseased part of the plant, saving the part still alive.
A week or two later, my best tree started to wilt and die. I tried several things to try and save it, but it seemed to be too late. I'm unsure what caused it to pass on, but I suspect it died due to lack of water. I don't believe that this is the case, but its the only plausible cause. I don't believe it was caused by the thing that killed the other trees, as there's no markings.
Other than this, the rest of the plants are doing quite well.
